David Alan Johnson grew up in South Texas. After graduating High School he joined the Army and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. His job desription included words such as rifleman, demolitions, light weapons expert, anti-tank warfare, and prisoner handling and interogation.
The first four years of Dons formal education started in a one-room country school house. He graduated from Momence H.S, Momence, Illinois in 1957, Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the US Army for three years. Completing his service time he enrolled at Marquette University in 1960. With the birth of his first daughter he had to become a part-time student. He worked at a gas station, drove a Coca-Cola route truck, sold cars, worked at Caterpillar plant, worked as a security guard, worked in a foundry plant, and became a radio announcer. After six years he had completed only half of the credits needed to graduate. He transferred to Illinois State University and with the return of the G.I. Bill, Don finished his last two years of college in just 18 months Now with two daughters he finally graduated after eight years. He then moved to Houston, Texas. He worked in the automotive after market field as a salesman most of his life. He even preformed stand up comedy and entertained as the clown Mr. Donaldo.

Diagnosed with a severe pediatric brain tumor, Patricia Walsh became blind at age five due to complications of surgery. As a teenager she struggled with depression and hopelessness. Today, Patricia is a world champion triathlete and award-winning engineer. When a friend first mentioned triathlons to her in 2009 she immediately signed up for the Ironman — before even owning a bike! In 2011 she set the world record for blind athletes, blowing away previous female and male records by over 80 minutes. Patricia has a degree in computer science and Electrical Engineering becoming one of the first blind engineers at Microsoft. Patricia is the two time National champion for the Olympic distance and recently secured Bronze for the United States in the Short Course World Championship in Beijing, China 2011.Today Patricia aspires to represent her country in the 2012 & 2016 Olympics in both track& Field and triathlon.
