Jill Scala is currently a tenured professor at SBCC and sits as Chair of Professional Development, which allows her to design Training and Conduct Real-World Workshops for employees, middle and senior-level managers in private industry.
She has helped dozens of companies realize increasing levels of potential by fostering effective methods of communication and business strategies: Supervisory Skills, Conflict Management, Performance management and Strategic Communication for Team Building & Interpersonal Workplace Relationships.
Known for her energetic style and workshop approach, Jill maximizes the learning transfer by making her training fun and dynamic, and at the same time productive.
A graduate of Pepperdine University’s School of Law, Jill began her career with a mediation and arbitration firm, where, in addition to her duties as an Account Executive, she gained extensive experience in small claims court mediation and developed MCLE accredited training seminars.
She later joined Select Staffing as the Training Director where designing and conducted multi-module certification training programs for employees and managers at over 100 branch offices nationally. Her duties also included conducting training programs nationally for Select Staffing Clients in the Power Training Institute Division.
As the professional development chair, her role was to meet with businesses, and work in consultation with these their leaders and HR Staff to initiate, develop and implement employee training and development programs for local organizations. These seminars include Communication, Team Building, project management, business presentation strategies and optimizing Internet tools and social media in the workplace.
She is a lecturer at numerous Human Resource Functions and is a member of American Women in Communication (AWC).
She also teaches Part-Time for the Marketing and Communication Department at Santa Barbara City College.
