Profile

I have three major professional licenses, a law degree, and a science degree.  I have drafted patent applications, argued before and arbitrator, and formed corporations.  I apply the wealth of knowledge provided by my broad education and professional experience to provide informative and entertaining seminar content on law-related topics.  I would welcome the opportunity to share what I have learned with you.  Below is a brief summary of my experience.

• Coordinated the due diligence required for a prospective acquisition or partnership, Managing employees and outside counsel and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
• Formed a Nevada non-profit corporation and completed an application for tax-exempt status for this entity
• Served as member of negotiation team on several intellectual property license negotiations and dispute resolutions Analyzed and summarized numerous contracts acquired through a corporate acquisition. Conducted legal research to assess the antitrust risk of potential university patent strategies.

• Intellectual Property / Patent Law

• Drafted a several United States patent applications.Completed several patent searches and patentability opinionsDrafted an office action responses and related patent prosecution documents.Drafted a memorandum on the effect of the examiner’s reasons for allowance on claim breadth.
• Completed multiple trademark registration applicationsAnalyzed patent claims to evaluate potential infringement by third parties
• Drafted a material transfer agreement template and edited patent license agreements and amendments

Civil Litigation

• Drafted an arbitration statement; presented the opening statement, conducted the witness examination in a breach of contract case.
• Researched and drafted several complete court motions/oppositions including sexual harassment litigation work.
• Summarized and analyzed at least 8 depositions; attended 2 depositions and part of 1 trial.
• Completed a demand package in a personal injury matter.
• Successfully negotiated the removal of a client’s file from a debt collections agency.
